Editorial from the Washington Post: …The new attorney general also should ensure that an independent commission or the inspector general review the anthrax investigation. In the summer, the FBI identified Fort Detrick scientist Bruce E. Ivins as the lone suspect in the 2001 anthrax attacks that killed five and sickened many more. Mr. Ivins took…
But FBI’s report, documents and accompanying information (only pertaining to Ivins, not to the rest of the investigation) were released on Friday afternoon… which means the FBI anticipated doubt and ridicule. And the National Academies of Science (NAS) is several months away from issuing its $879,550 report on the microbial forensics, suggesting a) asking NAS…
The BBC reports: The UK has lowered its worst-case scenario estimate of possible swine flu-related deaths from 65,000 to 19,000. Seventy people have died so far in the UK, while 6,000 to 8,000 die yearly from seasonal flu. Advisors have now agreed that the swine flu death rate is lower than previously thought, likely to…
Flu vaccines would be fine for everyone to take each year if the benefit exceeded the risk plus cost. The cost in a drug store to be vaccinated is about $25. No benefit can be demonstrated in those over 65 or in younger children, where 90% of flu deaths occur. (See several posts from earlier…
I have been talking about how one might improve clinical care of Ebola patients, and the need for trials to identify the best treatments, best empiric iv fluids, etc. This is necessary both to improve survival rates and also to give Ebola patients a reason to come to Ebola treatment centers, which many perceive to be…
I have been waiting for cases to peak and then go away. Maybe that is what is happening in Virginia. It is too bad no one is collecting seroprevalence data to learn how many people have already been affected and are now immune. State health officials say that the H1N1 flu may be peaking in…

Any chance you could summarise it for those of us who do not support Facebook or any of its related platforms?
Thanks in advance!
Sorry, there were 8 or 9 commenters and I did not hear about any magic that would slow the bulldozer of vaccine mandates and passports down. There are some legal strategies, but most likely the effort to force this through the European Parliament and European Council had already obtained the agreement of the EU's leadership.
It seems that we in the US are fortunate to have a constitution that reserved so many powers to the states. If enough people in some states refuse to go along, these measures can be attempted here (and they are) but the pushback will be greater.
Once the lavish government handouts are over and companies need to earn money, they will remember they have to please their customers. We customers need to spend our money and place our money in companies that align with our interests. Fingers crossed.
Thank you!
Thus far, there's no government-mandated vaccination here in Australia; just a lot of pressure to be a good citizen, protect your fellow Aussies, and help get life back to normal by getting vaccinated.
Australia does not have a Bill of Rights which includes medical autonomy, but we're a bloody-minded lot, so I think the present government (politically conservative but very sensitive to optics and criticism) knows better than to even attempt mandatory vaccination.
Getting to fly internationally, however, is a whole other matter. As long as airlines or other countries can mandate vaccination for travel or entry, we'll be unable to leave the country. That works as a de facto vaccine mandate for anyone who wants or needs to travel internationally.
Thanks again for the synopsis of the FB info.
