Maine’s Education Committee meeting began 12 hours ago. It is still running, but we are getting close to the end.

Children's Health Defense streamed the hearing, and other states may get ideas of how to deal with similar bills in their states.

There will be a work session next Monday where the 6 bills will be harmonized and additional discussion by the members of this committee will take place. Then whatever they finalize will go to the full legislature to vote on what the bill(s) look like after the work session. There is no date yet known for the final vote, and based on Bill LD 798 4 years ago, there may be many amendments and rewordings. OTOH, the D party that did not put these bills out may be able to force all their members to vote against them, and then things could happen very quickly. We shall see.
