The validity and quality of research underpin the entire research enterprise worldwide. However, a number of studies have shown that many researchers take “shortcuts” and that perhaps 1-3% of research is grossly false, fitting into the category of research misconduct. Research misconduct has been defined in US federal law as fabrication, plagiarism and/or falsification. Identified…

https://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/Gavin-Newsom-vaccine-passports-California-COVID-19-16246673.php Late last week, California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that the state would soon be rolling out a new “vaccine verification system” for private businesses that may be akin to a vaccine passport. During an event in San Francisco on Monday, Newsom clarified that the “system” will essentially just be electronic vaccine cards that individuals can keep on their…
In this first hour of the second day of hearings held by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine in the matter of their suspension of Dr. Meryl Nass’s medical license, Dr. Nass, under questioning by her lawyer, describes a Kafkaesque series of events that led to her being charged with incompetence, fraud and various…
The media have reported that some biodefense scientists said Ivins couldn’t produce the powdered anthrax found in the letters, but at least one scientist said he could. One problem is that the public does not know how the letters’ anthrax was produced, nor whether it contained an additive that promoted dispersion. Anthrax is produced in…
From today’s Washington Post: “Belgium had one of the world’s worst [actually the worst recorded–Nass] per capita death rates this spring, with most of the mortality occurring in nursing homes. Now, even though cases have nearly quintupled compared to their lowest point in late June, Belgian hospitals remain calm. Very few cases are appearing in…

Proposed bill says: [II. Licensed pharmacists following standing orders may dispense ivermectin to persons in this state without a prior prescription. Pharmacies may charge a fee for consultation with the patient.]
Dr. Nass, please correct if I am wrong. . . Standing Order in this matter means that if an MD or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse provides to [issues] a particular pharmacy, or a pharmacy chain, a Standing Order to dispense Ivermecting; then: pharmacist "may dispense" it without a prescription.
Is this accurate? and isn't this, a Standing Order, what allows pharmacies to, say, inject the covid shots? and vaccines?
In other words, it is a general order to a pharmacy, viz. a particular drug, in this case, IVT, yes?
Thanks,
Jim

my understanding is that a state health official who can prescribe will issue a statewide standing order, as is done for Narcan, allowing pharmacies to dispense the drug without a prescription written speciically for that individual. Vaccine programs may be conducted under a similar umbrella authority in some places.
However, the bill ran into some trouble today. But it only requires a majority vote in the Senate.
